hamos FFS series electronic metal separators detect and remove metal particles from bulk materials transported in suction and pressure conveying systems. Metal detection and separation takes place "on the fly" at conveying speeds of up to more than 30 m/s. Depending on the type of conveying (pressure or suction conveying, continuous or intermittent), specially adapted separation mechanisms are used. During the entire metal separation process, the conveying pressure is maintained in the system.
In addition to ferrous metals, hamos FFS separators detect and remove all non-ferrous metals. Products, machines and tools are thus safely, reliably and cost-effectively protected from damage caused by metal contamination.
The product to be demetallized is pneumatically conveyed through a metal detection coil. If a metal particle is registered in the process, the separator in the metal separator opens. The product flow is briefly diverted and the metal falls together with a small amount of product into the separation container.
In all air-assisted pneumatic conveying processes, both the flow velocity in the conveying line and the system overpressure or underpressure in the metal separator and the conveying line remain almost constant. This means that product conveying is not interrupted during the separation process.
In the case of hamos FFS-L series units for use in discontinuously operating vacuum small conveying systems, the contaminated material is discharged after the end of a conveying cycle via an elastic valve flap.
In hamos FFS-P series devices for continuously operating vacuum or pressure conveying systems, interruption of the conveying flow during the separation process is prevented by a double sluice formed by two shut-off valves connected in series.
For example, if you
in pneumatic conveying systems, the hamos FFS is the ideal device for detecting and separating metal parts.
